good morning!

my friend noticed my car made a little blue smoke at start up. this is my 2002 lexus es300 V6. i am original owner, did tons of oil changes with mobil 1, like every 2000 miles.

80,000 original miles.
1. simply put, what does the blue smoke at start up mean? the car was sitting 3 hours before starting.
2.What, if anything, do I do about it?

thanks, have a GREAT day!

It also could be, clogged pcv,or bad oil well seals in valve cover.
If it's juat little puff, try switching to High Mileage oils, and you can add LM Oil Saver.

thanks guys! i bet it would be easy to replace the pcv valve! i also bet that my lexus es 300 has the camry engine!

if the car passes inspection in the Spring, i will drive it! i notice no oil consumption when i check the oil

best

thanks everyone!! i will check if my mechanic did the PCV valve, he just did spark plugs, brakes, brake fluid and steer fluid.

OK, if it is valve stem seals, what do I do about it? do i ignore it? fix it? will it pass emissions inspection in the Spring?

thanks!!!! I am learning a lot

bob

You likely will pass emissions. The cat will gobble the smoke. Don't use HDEOs and it'll last a long time like this.
