When I lived in Buffalo, everybody said oh Perry's is the best.
Now I live in TX, oh Blue Bell is the best.
I don't eat gallons of ice cream, so when I get it, we like to go to a local custard stand, or a gellato bar.
I liked Rum Raisen up north, but can't find it down here. I have been sticking with Pistachio or anything with Pecans.

Mitchell's is my favorite here, mostly organic ingredients. Notice the train running around the ceiling. Thank you.

I like Bluebell when I visit Texas.
But the best ice ceam ever is Morelli's made in Broadstairs, Kent, England.
And the best Morelli's ever made was in 1972, when I worked there.

We love Blue Bell on the bayou, the brides cake flavor was a huge hit down here. I like plain ol vanilla along with a bunch of other flavors.
I grew up on Blue Bell, and I think that in the last few years they have gotten pretty stellar with such a wide variety of flavors. Much more so than in the past. I also would say that so many off the shelf ice creams tend to have the same (what I would define as plain-jane) texture. Some of the gelatos and slow churned ice creams that come off the shelves seem pretty good. I wish Blue Bell would go that direction, but I haven't seen it.
The real fun is in walk-in creameries. Top of the list is hands-down Graeter's Ice Cream, originally from Cincinnati. I've only ever seen it in the north though. Apparently Houston just got a branch, though, so I might try it out down there.

Aw man, you just hit a nerve. PUBLIX ice cream is awesome. When the Blue Bell was pulled from the shelves I started eating PUBLIX brand. The ONLY reason I don't eat it now is because there are no PUBLIX stores in La. And quite honestly, I don't think La. can handle a PUBLIX store.
I sure wish that PUBLIX was here!

I like Wegmans ice cream, a N.E. regional supermarket chain. It tastes very creamy, must be done smoothness additive! Priced around $2.50/rectangular container.

Blue Bell is a mediocre cheap ice cream. I only buy it when that's all the store has and I'm craving ice-cream. It's made with high fructose corn syrup. It's probably the best of the cheap ice creams though.
I buy only Baskin Robbins,and Ben and Jerry's.
