I was thinking of getting a new computer like one of these. Maybe doing an SSD/conventional HD set up. Don't play games, surfing online, putting on music/photo collection, maybe light music production at some point. I'll probably go with window 8, maybe Win 7. I could always jump to a newer OS later from Win 7.

I have built a computer years ago and thought one of these would more than fill the bill. I must admit I'm a little confused with the AMD 8 core, 4 core, 2 core etc. If you think a Pentium CPU set up would be better I would consider them as well. I3

This is where I found the 2 systems above.

If anybody sees any other deals online I'm open to other options. Thanks Pat

OP, the main difference between the two systems you posted is that the first one, an AMD A10, is a quad-core AMD with six graphics processing cores integrated onto the CPU = A10. That system will have an AMD Radeon R7 series graphics processor.

The second system is like computers of yesteryear where GPU processing was independent of the CPU. That is an octo-core AMD only, the graphics processing is done on the motherboard which is an AMD/ATI Radeon 3000 series. This system, while not bad, would need a dedicated GPU to really shine.

I think the A10 (first) system would probably better suit your needs based upon what you said.

That's a good one. Good CPU and decent amount of memory. GPU would probably perform better than the integrated GPU of the A10. Only thing I'd do is slap an SSD in it.

About 6-7 years ago, I bought a barebones kit from Tiger Direct that had a bad memory stick. It had a 30 day warranty on it and called them on it. The date that I called them was 31 days over the invoice date, but only about 20 days over the date that I had received it. They wouldn't do anything about it until I begged and then they told me to send the memory stick back. In the mean time, they changed their mind and sent me the defective memory stick back to me and wouldn't do anything about the defective stick. I was stuck with it.
I've never ordered from them again.
