Sometimes when i boot and get to the desktop,a box appears with bitdefender update.Thing is, i don't see it anywhere on my desktop and did a search and nothing.How do i do an update manually? xp pro

Is bitdefender in your add/remove programs list (in Control Panel)? If yes, then you need to search through your programs until you find it. Look for it in the c:\program files folder. If no, then maybe you have a nasty.
checked them and no bitdefender!
That's strange....check your processes list.
Also, check your IE settings for anything "BitDefender" related....
Speaking of which, I just used BitDefender "Online Virus Scan" to clean up my sisters "Security Tool" infected laptop...lol. I'll chime in, in a couple days if she notices any "updates".....
I didn't install their software though, just their online virus scan applet thing....

Did the bitdefender scan,nothing.Under tools,add-ons,there it is! Did update now.Thanks for the help!!!
