McAfee is a resource hog. My WEBROOT subscription was dirt cheap and after 2 months now, it's beginning to slow down my computer. I also purchased ESET NOD32 at the same time, hoping to delay the ESET installation for one year. But now I may be forced to uninstall WEBROOT and install ESET prematurely.
During the past year 2013, I did free downloads of 3-4 different ESET trial offers (using different email addresses) and it works great.... low on resource-hogging.
I had Webroot and purchased it based on all the rave reviews on the web for it. I've come to the conclusion that most of them were faked as when I declined to renew in favor of Freeware, AVG found several little pieces of virus that Webroot had left undisturbed. After that I was hesitant to buy anything, but it seems Bitdenfender is the real deal...
