bio 2 this semester, lots of bacteria, viruses and microorganisms. Really fascinating stuff, I'm thinking about going into a career with them. Love these videos.

Infection of cells with viruses, showing how the host cell is destroyed when manufacturing new viruses. How bacteriophages work, and how the HIV virus infects a T-cell. turn up you're sound, great soundtrack.

This is fascinating. The way a flagellum motor in a bacteria works is essentially a very tiny electric motor made out of proteins. Between them, and bacteriophages, it is marvelous just how complex these "simple" life forms are.

The symbiotic bacteria and protista that live in a termite gut that help them digest cellulose.

Have you become a germophobe yet? A high percentage of people, who learn about the microbes and parasites, become acutely aware of what they touch, what they eat or drink and how they interact with people.

I agree oddly. I always loved those sort of classes.

I remember learning about the filament motors. We had to memorize all the parts and be able to diagram and explain the process in writing for the test. Intro to Biology is an interesting class. So much so that I considered changing my major.

I enjoyed Biology, I was one of the few to actually take and enjoy the class on a 8+hour long Saturday session. 7:15 AM - 3:00 PM

Reminds me of my high school physics class. I couldn't tell you ANYTHING about physics, but I remember how the teacher looked, that's for use.

I had some great HS bio classes. I'll never forget learning the Krebs Cycle (cellular respiration) and being told that we'd have to diagram it on the final, so MEMORIZE IT! Then the day of the final we're all sitting there taking the test, and the teacher casually takes off her lab coat and she's wearing a T-shirt with the Krebs Cycle drawn on it. I placed out of a ton of undergrad biology in college... then decided on engineering where I didn't even need bio. :-/

Always loved bio though.

I think I want to be a high school biology teacher, actually.

Can't say I have the good looks that some of your teachers had, but this definitely is really cool stuff. :]

Depending on how it's taught, it can also have a profound impact, whatever your chosen field. If your class teaches evolutionary theory and scientific methodology alongside the brute facts, you'll take those with you wherever you go.

I can't say that my teachers were hot(all men lol). But my one teacher in HS was great. Taught everything with the ability for his students to really understand it. He had a charisma about him that made you listen when he spoke. Never a dull moment.

Chemistry was another one I enjoyed. First teacher in HS was tough, I actually flunked the class with about 4 or 5 other students. Then I retook it the following semester when a newer teacher came in and wow he was great. Always willing to help, always clear and concise when explaining things and the laps were fantastic. I was really upset that the following year they needed to make cuts financially and they let him and a few other newer faculty go.

haha

I remember taking gen bio and genetics my sophomore year in college.

By far my hardest classes. Maybe plus the boring teacher = didn't want to understand much haha.

I think it could be the way I think. I was always very good with physics, chemistry, and calculus. But mannn Bio always kicked my butt! lol
