I just saw a documentary (not 60-minutes) about IKEA. Kamprad drowe a new Skoda Octavia wagon. At lunch he ate at IKEA's "restaurant" between 12 and 12.30, because the "coffe was free"

My thought is a vehicle is an end to a means to these people. Also why drive something that will draw attention to yourself? If you want to drive yourself just mix in with the population.

All of us really important people drive 20-year-old Mazda trucks.

Which is why Ross Perot was driving mundane looking Impalas and Caprices for years. Don't know about now, but I recall seeing him and his wife leaving a movie about 1979 or '80. Didn't think the exhaust was stock, nor the tires. And it rode a little heavily, stiffly. Always figured might have been some plate steel in judicious amounts in there. This car was less noticeable than a police "undercover".

Did someone above say "frugal". An old Mazda or what-have-you isn't to the point. Paul Allen owns 2 or 3 giant yachts, each of which costs well over a million bucks a year to operate. (And then you fuel it and go somewhere).

well, i can definitly say that I waste money like crap.Today i bought 28" rams head ruby eyed serpent sword made in China 19.99.This is genuinly something i dont need. My apartment is full of junk i dont need -wall to wall. I guess my computer is something i probably need-im not sure. . I spend gourds of money on lots of little crap. Thats probably why im poor as a begger tof course, we all know to be nice to beggars cuase theres at least one beggar whos actually a billionaire waiting to give his fortune away to the first kind person who gives him 50 dollars for a room.

Yeah, most super rich like to make money instead of spending money. To them making money is the fun and it is like playing monopoly.

Wealthy people who spend needlessly on luxuries set a bad example for those who don't have the means. It creates jealousy and a sense of division.
