The MPAA defines a home theater as any home with a television larger than 29" with stereo sound and at least two comfortable chairs, couch, or futon. Anyone with a home theater would need to pay a $50 registration fee with the MPAA or face fines up to $500,000 per movie shown.

LMAO what would they do if you had a blue-ray or hd dvd....

They expect you to play a 1000$ dvd player on a 29"
?

The story about babies being banned from flights and "Anyone with a small child will be asked to either discard it or stow it in their checked bagged." is obvious satire. Babies Banned from flying

But the above story about the MPAA is actually believable. If it weren't for the 29 inch TV I could have bought the story. If they could find a way to profit off of how many times you view your home movie they would. They already say it is illegal to make backup copies of your movies even though the medium on which they reside will easily scratch and become unusable over time. So much for fair use...

And recently I see on the news that the movie houses are complaining that movie theater ticket sales are down this year. Yet they conveniently leave out that DVD sales are gaining at record levels. Gee, let me think... I can spend $40 to see it in the theater at someone else's schedule on some sticky covered seat with inconsiderate adults and screaming children. Or I could wait 6 weeks and buy it for $25 and watch it when I want, as many times as I want and pause it to go get a beer or answer nature's call. Nah, it can't be that the theater is inconvenient. It must be because we don't charge enough at the theater, let's jack up the matinée price to $11.

Ugh.
