Biggest box office bombs

Some of those I enjoyed and they merely cost too much to make.

The one I found odd was how Sahara was regarded as a winner that cost too much. I found it not entertaining at all, yet it allegedly did well. Apparently many people enjoyed this movie for some reason AND it cost too much to make.

Movies aren't always going to do well in a theater. You may watch them every time their on cable but would never pay to see them.

It was ..I thought. Perhaps I'm just confusing it being referenced with Kevin Costner's other loser, The Postman

I'm surprised Waterworld didn't make it too. I thought WW, Postman, and Final Fantasy were decent movies. Not classics, but not stinkers.

But Leonard Part 6 was... ugh.

People often mention Waterworld as a box-office bomb but it actually made a profit when you look at worldwide ticket sales. And that doesn't even take into account video sales yet.

Did you build the model from scratch, or was it a kit?

In case you don't know this, the mariner's cat in Waterworld was designed by two of the best multi-hull cat designers, Marc van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot-Prevost. Click here to see their website.

Filmed on an approx $35,000 budget by students. Acquired by a Studio for $1M. And it did I believe in the $200M-$300M range in profits.

Hardly a bomb and likely a very large profit maker vs many more movies that cost far more to produce.

The only thing good about that movie was Cristina Ricci. I usually like movies like this but this one just didn't work. I think the star was poorly cast.

I would probably think that some of these bombs are the result of not accounting for Hollywood accounting. I'm pretty sure that our medical sector is modeled after it. "Works for them"

It doesn't cost much to make, so how can it be a box office disaster?
