I was at the dealer getting my oil changed this morning and the service guy recommended BG MOA. Due to the mileage (260k). I declined. How does everyone feel about this product? How do you feel about a service guy recommending oil additves?

Personally, I think it is one of the 'good' oil additives - it does have a LOT of Ca detergent in it. I'd use it if I could find it somewhere.

I've used it once after an engine flush with BG109 mainly because it was recommended. However, I don't think it's necessary when using syn. oil.

i learned that the moa is designed for older oils which mixes well unlike newer oil moa does not mix well and is useless.also there is not enough in it to make any diffence...usethe lubegard products.

Thet's pretty freakin' impressive. Now that you've answered the "who are you to say" question, how about a little more info on MOA and mixing with newer oils?

There is nothing from that list or the website to suggest that Donny Seyfer is an expert on engine oil and/or additive formulations. Therefore, I have no reason to believe that his wild claim that MOA "does not mix well" is true unless there is some scientifically proven evidence to support that statement.

Although I am not suggesting that BG MOA works, I would like to see some evidence that this stuff "does not mix properly" with conventional oil.

I'm wondering the same thing, or at least what the profit margin is. A local Ford dealership, along with the Infiniti dealership, push this nonsense, in direct violation of the owners manuals' recommendations.

The city I reside in uses BG MOA in their entire fleet of city vehicles, as well as the fire/police units. The mechanics speak highly of BG products and use it in their respective Jeeps/4x4. The engines stay clean and run hard every day.

I guess its matter of personal opinion. I doubt that soccer vans need the additives. Just a thought.

I always use synthetic oil (pennzoil platinum or Mobil1). But this time the car was at the dealer for service and I asked them to perform an oil change while it was there. They used Valvoline bulk oil for the oil change. Do you think if I added a can of BG MOA it would help the engine oil or am I just squeamish?

Btw, I live in Dallas, TX and I do like to rev my engine to 4-6k in my daily driving.
