Mildly rough at idle, trying to smooth it out.

Any chance you have a mechanical problem that nothing in liquid form is going to fix?

If you've been through 4 already... what are the odds that #5 will fail as well?

Bad plug, bad wire, vacuum leak, bad sensor, bad injector?

The 5.8 seems to be a pretty smooth engine in my experience. Is the issue only at idle? I used to use BG44k alot, until the local dealer price went up to about $20. Now i just use redline sl-1 and like it.

In the last 6 months I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. ARX treatment, and LC20 treatment.

A problem at idle is unlikely to be caused by the internals; check the intake and associated sensors, electrical connections and even battery ground.

I found BG44k to be overpriced and totally ineffective.. I have a borescope to save time by allowing me to check internal components without disassembling, its this model here

First thing I did when I got my borescope was to go down the manifold and check my valves, then pull the plugs and check my piston tops.. with it being a carb'd motor the valves were pretty clean but there was a light coating of carbon on the piston tops. 2x cans of BG in the fuel did nothing for smoothness, MPGs or deposits.
Then I tried Redline SI-1 and it was a minor miracle! smoother idle with more MPG and roughly 90% reduction in the piston top deposits. Its cheaper and better!! Bit of a no-brainer really..

I would rather spend $10-12 on Redline SI-1 or Techron for $8 than $20 for BG. It's good... but not twice as good.
