Yea they stopped smoking with the next drive.....

My dad said it could of been b.c really only loaded brake cleaner on the part the pad touches both sides and the parts of the rotor the pad dont touch i just sprayed it a lil bit less however it did STOP

Also how come these ROTORS get so HOTTTTTTTTTTTT

My other rotors I could drive and they werent as hot.. These rotors If I touch them after I drive it will burn the [censored] outta ur finger.

My old ones never got that HOT..

Perhaps new rotors do that... Perhaps they are made to take the heat so the pad and the calipar dont.

I did a first class job with new hardware and took the caliper bolts out and cleaned them and re greased em.

I mean i took my time and did a good job

so what you think about why they get hotter???

or Perhaps the old ones got hot but I never really noticed it.

It stops much better now and sooo smooth

I mean i can be going 50 MPH and take hands off wheel and hit the brakes * NOT SLAM * but hit brakes and it stops in a perfect line... Long as its a good road.

also its stops much faster with new ROTORS also new pads

Wearever PLATINUM

I had Wagner Thermoquiet on there before and tell you the truth I was not happy with them on this car..

when I went from Reverse to Drive they would make a CLUNK Sound b.c the pads were to short.

The new pads went in tighter but not to the point to where I had to file off anything..

they went on perfect

also I read Raybesto makes Wearever...

Im just glad I have all new hardware in there b.c the old was all rusted out.

anyways.. about the heat?? What you think?

Sounds like maybe a pad is stuck. You may need to grind off part of the pad ear. Is there a burning smell?

its gone now.

but if a pad was stuck it would sway to one side when you stop

and when I take my hands off the sterring wheel and stop its perfecttttttttttttttt

also both rotors get HOT

but they do not Smoke anymore

they just did it the first drive..

so do you think that was normal?

some ppl do

what you think?

Also I took calipar pins out and cleaned up and re lubbed em good

A bunch of thoughts:

First is that you got this after a series a repeated stops with no rest in between, right? That generates a lot of heat that you ordinarily don't. The fact that the pads were soaked with brake cleaner and the fact that the pads were new were aggravating factors leading to smoke generation.

And lastly, many of us don't sit by the computer all day. Personally, I visit first thing in the morning - and that's it. So don't expect responses to questions in a couple of hours.

This. If the rotors are being relaced, just hit them anywhere. If they crack? Who cares. Hit a palce that doens't break off, eventually it WILL come off. I've had to beat the [censored] out of them with a 3 lbs sledge a few times. I've never taken heat to them. Some penetrating oil on ocassion, but usually just a BFH.

Any type of grease that was on the pads or rotors will smoke when they get hot when you first use your new brakes. Did you clean the surface of the rotors with brake cleaner before you finished assembly? Rotors usually come with a light coating of some kind of oil to prevent them from rusting on the shelf. Also, when new pads are bedded in, sometimes you will heat them until they fade, which sometimes makes them smoke as well.
