Best throttle cable lubricant?

Grime does build up inside the tube and just cleaning it with white spirit or parafin would make a difference.

I do this fisrt until what comes out at the bottom is faily clean, then use dry film lubricant (one made by wd-40 for the actual lube.

Although the steel cable may be teflon lined but what about the inside of the outer tube? Rubbing against it would wear even teflon out.

I would stay away from product that leave oily film behind as it becomes a dirt magnet

A real world data point regarding a Teflon lined throttle cable:

2012 BMW R1200RT, 85K miles, cable never lubed. First and only throttle cable adjustment just a few thousand miles ago.... measured approx. 1mm of excessive play. Always amazes me how even the slightest adjustment improves the feel.
