What's the best silicone spray lube for spraying your window weather stripping ?

One of those mechanics on YouTube demonstrated how much faster the power windows go up and down with the weather stripping lubed up. I watch so many different YouTube mechanics, I can't remember which one said that.

Have you been watching Scotty Kilmer again?!?

No -- that's the one guy I can't watch. He shouts too much.

I watched the video of his on power windows the other day. He was definitely hitting the button on the Charger to make the thing stop on the way down.

After the doors on the Taurus would alwasys freeze shut, I'd just get cheap silicone spray (or use left over camp dry) all over the rubber bits on the door.

I bought an 8 oz. tub of Energy Suspension-branded lubricant for Poly Bushings for well under $Canadian 20 (via Amazon dot ca) that is reported to be a good substitute for Shin-Etsu, which is the "Gold Standard" for this application.

Bonus, of course, is the Lifetime Supply of Chassis Bushing lubricant.

This stuff is very inexpensive and available locally:

I am going to try that one.

Ran out of the Dupont silicone with teflon spray which lasts longer than regular silicone. Dielectric/silicone grease makes too much of a mess too unless it's soaked in good.

Something that is cheap, readily available and works: Napa Sil-Glyde. Use it on the Mustang and have been pleased.

Not only he shouts, he spits everywhere into the camera and everything sounds like a question.

Krytox GPL 201 is good, and has very low stiction so won't cause seal noise while driving. It's also kind of rare. GPL-205 will also work and is easier to find.

What if you just spray some silicone spray onto the base of your windows, letting some run down the track, and put them up and down about 3 times?

Or WD-40?

NEVER use WD-40 on rubber seals! It will damage them and make them swell.

Always use a silicone based product preferably 100% silicone GREASE ONLY, not the spray products that contain petroleum distillates.

I use NAPA Sylglide or dielectric grease depending on what is closer on my bench.

Sylglide or 3m makes a silicone grease paste too. Most of the spray can silicone lubes has solvents that can play havoc with certain types of rubber and paint.
