From their website: "Simply call AMSOIL INC. at (800) 956-5695 for pricing information or to order kits".
A little bias there, Pablo?

I make NO MONEY on OAI kits, PLUS they have been shown over and over again to have no bias. Here's my study:

Hi Pablo,

I found Paradise Garage's Synthetic Oil Study before I discovered BITOG. Are you affiliated with Neptune or Paradise in any way?

I wrote to them about 8 months ago, as their study ended in 2003, and I wondered if they had resumed. Brian wrote back saying that they didn't put enough miles on the car to continue. I was willing to sponsor a sample, but couldn't. Seems the Amsoil didn't hold up as well as M1 in the TBN dept. I was hoping they would do a Redline test, but, alas.....

Hope you are doing well, haven't heard much about your neck lately, everything OK?

Take care,

Bob

Not associated with Paradise.

The "study" was highly flawed. No consistency in elapsed time or driving style or even filter changes. The car had issues. Plus both oils have changed formulas several times since then.

Neck is better.

Right, I seem to remember him saying he just cracked the drain plug to get the samples. After reading the posts on here, that would be akin to scraping a sample off the driveway....... I think I even wrote and asked if the drain plug had a copper gasket, maybe that's why the copper levels were so high. Think he said it wasn't copper.

So Dyson is the favored analyzer? I have a little over 3K on my Honda with 5w-30 Redline and a K&N filter, and I'm itching to install my Amsoil stuff. Think I'll order a kit.

Glad your neck is better, I was subscribed to your "neck thread" but the posts stopped, did you start another one?

Blackstone has been very good about retesting if I have a question. You need to ask them within a week or two because they hold the samples for a couple of weeks then recycle them. They are also very willing to answer questions. I think the bottom line is that Terry is more knowledgeable and his premium service covers some data that Blackstone doesn't test for. For example his lab measures fuel dilution directly rather than estimating based on flashpoint. My understanding is that many engines on newer cars have a moderate fuel dilution problem, particularly if driven short trips in colder weather. The only way to know for sure is to test and this is particularly important if one is considering an extended oci.
