I've paid no attention to the Academy Awards in more than 25 years. When I saw the title of this thread,, the AW never entered my mind. I thought it might be about a badly over rated digital camera.

Actually, movie awards that are not contrived are the DGA Awards. Those are given by professionals to their peers.
