I usually get my bars from saffords in AL but the shipping as thru the roof. I also tried saw suppliers but they do not have phone customer service and have not replyed to my email in over 24 hrs, plus the discount code does not work. I would be nervous to use them if there was a shipping issue or such as they are too slow.

Any others?

P.S - yes I like buying local but the shops do not stock light bars locally and do not stock EXL chains only standard chains.

If you're OK with online buying, then look up what you need via the Oregon website, and then search it on Amazon.
I've had great success and good pricing by getting the stuff from AMZN.

Tractor supply sells Husky bars and Oregon chains, just not much of anything over 20". Might be worth checking. That said, I get all my Oregon stuff from Amazon. I've never purchased any Husky saw parts.

I was able to make contact with safford thru phone to get the shipping corrected. Fingers crossed. I remember ordering from them prior and had a great experiance.

I hit a rock while bucking on Friday. It was beyond fixing with a file, so I had to open up my last new chain.

Replenishment order, six Husq SP33G chains (three two packs) NIB for $80.16 on ebay, shipped, incl tax. Until they arrive I shall be careful. $13.36 each...

Oregon chains are junk.
The only time I find Oregon chains barely acceptable is when they're only used for cutting green clean wood.

I've had great results from their 3/8" EXL chain. Awesome off the spool or out of the box and easy to hand or whiz file.
I like Stihl and really like Husky's X-cut, but Oregon is cheaper and has worked well in New England hard wood.
I receive log length truck loads as well as local work and lot's of tree service Ash and such.

Just curious what happened for you to think the Oregon's are junk? What saws are you using it on?

@Fordiesel69 I like dealing with Saffords and West Coast Saw has decent pricing on EXL spools. Check out Ripsaw as well.

I would also call around to local shops and see if they want to price match to get your business. Can't hurt.

I cut already dry, standing dead, hard woods that are full of dirt. With Oregon chain I'll spend more time sharpening and messing with chains then I will cutting.

Don't some of Husky's chains actually come from Oregon? H30?
I believe so - the H30 is a .325 .050 chain. Oregon supplied/supplies many manufacturers over the years, including overseas models (those safety chains! LOL). The new X-cut's are supposedly in-house, however. I have one on my 572XP w/ 28" Husky Light bar and it's been great.

Overall, I guess if I timed some cuts with a camera, I could see the difference between the Stihl RS's, Husky X-Cut and Oregon EXL's, but in practical use with volumes of wood, I really can't tell. Any chain will dull when cutting dirt, so I debark with a bark spud before cutting, especially the logs that were skidded.

Theshopbend dot com has bar and chains, as some at jackssmallengines.

My local southern states farm supply carries Oregon bars but not sure about that chain. I just use a full chisel chain of whatever brand.

When I got my new mickey mouse 50cc saw, I wanted to naysay the SP33g "safety chain" and go some other direction but didn't seem to be many options without changing a sprocket. To my surprise, it actually cuts well. For my purposes, x-cut chain on a 16" bar with 50cc does well enough to leave well enough alone.

oil pan 4,

Orgeon chains here in pa are all the rage as well as the husky and stihl chains and I dont know who their oem supplier is. I also have used archer chains with success.

If cutting dirt, its recommended to use rounded semi chisel cutter instead and they hold up but cut slower and are less aggressive.
