I have several different B@S single to twin cylinder engines that I run all year. I presently use supertech synthetic 10w30 in all with no problems. Would I be better off switching to a 15w/40 Delo type oil since they are all air cooled and run very hot? Thanks

Congrats on the move to Canada. I've visited Ontario many times (Arnprior) and lots of nice people there. I must say I was impressed. About the oil, I have used Delo 15w40 in my generator and leaf vac with good results. Probably been using it for at least 6-7 years now.

I have been using Valvoline 4-stroke 10w40 and 20w50 in my motorcycles, with good results 2 are air cooled. I think I would like to try the Rotella and Delo on my next oc, the Rotella gets tons of reat publicity on many web sites

i have a 10hp rotor tiller with a kohler motor and the manual reccomends 40wt non detergent, just wondering if its ok to rum something else.

One kind of oil that works in small air cooled engines is clean oil. Beyond that if the right viscosity is used, keeping it clean is more important the brand name as long as it has the correct API cert.

True Lonnie. Clean oil AND clean engine internals. Whatever then makes the most sense and proved the most fuzzy feelings for you! I've started using 15w40 HDEO this year in the air cooled push mowers, though the old Toro gets m1's 15w-50 for controlling burn-off, as well as limited use, utilizing it's mulch and bag features for fall and spring clean-up.

Take care.

I put in Delo 400 15w40 in my small engines this spring and it seems like the right choice.
