Best Oil Filter?

I have a list here of three oil filters that are readily available in my area for a decent price.

MotorCraft
ACDelco PF1218
Purolator Premium Plus

All of them are good in quality, but I noticed that the flow on the Purolator was alot higher than the others. Based on all that, which one do you guys recommend for a 89 Caprice w/ a 5.0L V8?

All are about the same. You can't go wrong with any of them. There isn't a clear cut winner.

Sounds good, but I'm curious as to why the purlolator had such a higher flow rate?

Isn't the Advance Auto Total Grip the same as the Puraltor Premium Plus? It's about .50 cents cheaper.

Go with the Motorcraft, especially if it's one of the filters with the silicon ADBV (it's the orange thing you can see through the filter holes). You'll know it has the silicon ADBV if the filter part number ends with an "S", such as FL-820S.

The Motorcraft and Purolator Premium Plus are virtually identical, but the Motorcrafts have the silicon ADBV and they're usually about a buck cheaper. Motorcrafts are only $3 at Walmart in my area.

But, I agree, any one of the three is a good choice. I'd make the choice largely based on price (and availability) between those three filters.

I would go with the AC. What I have seen, they are better than the Purolator.

A full flow oil filter does not do much anyway so it makes no difference. Wal*Mart SuperTech for $2.07 will do as good as any.

For Flow I'd go with the Purolator, For filtering I'd go with the AC Delco, and for extended drains I'd go with the Motorcraft. All three are good filters.
