I have that model Toro. I noticed that with the Craftsman you have to manipulate a joy stick for the speed control. What I like about my Toro is that all I have to do is walk and it is completely automatic and variable as far as speed control is concerned. The Craftsman's joy stick design sounds like it would be an annoyance. One thing I really don't like about the Toro is that there is resistance when you try to back up with it. The wheels seem to never fully unlock. That resistance is normal according to their faqs. Had I known this, it would have been almost a deal-breaker. One last thing. The "transmission"
