Best high mileage oil?

i was wondering the same thing. but how about a non-synthetic oil. iv been using castrol gtx high millage for the last year in all my cars and have been quite satisfied.

Maxlife Synthetic would be the king. But apart from full synthetic, I really like regular Maxlife, but think most HM oils are going to be better than their basic conventional counterpart. Citgo Ultralife is particularly good if you like beefy additives. Last I heard it was 1200 ppm zddp. But it is rather difficult to find.

What do you call High Mileage

Any of the name brands are good. I've used Pennzoil HM in my daughters 94 Maxima with the 3.0L engine. Pennz blends their viscosities to run on the high end of the index. So if you normally used a 10w30, you would probably want to drop down to a 5w30 for cold start capabilities in a WI winter.

Another thought is the SuperTech synthetic from WalMart. The 10w30 is blended to be a higher mileage vehicle formula. You would get excellent cold weather start capabilities and all the other advantages of a group 3 synthetic at a bargain price.

Nobody talks about it much (except moi) but I use Chevron high mileage in my 96 Cherokee and it's pleasing me quite a bit. My UOA last year was quite good, and my 4.0 has got to be one of the quietest ones I've heard. Of course, I did a double Auto-RX treatment before I started using this oil (switched from regularChevron), so take it for what it's worth.

I'm running Pennz 5w20 in my high-mileage (153K+ miles) Accord. I guess that makes it a high-mileage oil :^)

mike1qaz- 5w20 in a car with such high millage?? id think this is bad for the motor??? id use a HM oil 10w30 or 40

i used gty hm 10w 30 it made my hyudai use less oil.i changed it at 3,600 miles the first time, and at 2,800 a couple days ago.only thing bugged me is there was varnish under my oil cap that wasn't there before.probly nothing to be concerned, but i changed to trop artic becuse of the things of heard about and seemed to be a good value.also added xentn.another thing bugs me about all the hm oils is they're not fuel conserving.

M-1 is good oil, but why spend the extra money when you have a satisfactory product. my girl friend had a 90 maxima v6 with a bit of cracling. and ever sinse i started using the GTX HM i can't even tel when the cars running.

i was using m1.i was losing a qt every 3,000.the gtx hm when i changed it the first time at 3,600 miles had only gone down about a 1/2 qt.

i'm believe the dino oil is just as good as the syn, just have to change it sooner .syn has it's place in racing,or heavy duty use.

I am using Havoline HM 10W30 in my 1990 Jeep Comanche. The 4.0 is the smoothest it has been on any oil and the consumption has dropped to zero. Havoline HM can only be found at Advance Auto, but I believe it is a quality product. I have 6 quarts of Castrol HM ready to go into it for my next oil change. I had some free coupons from Castrol and wanted to give it a try.
