Best gasoline fuel stabilizer?

My daughter is going to school in Chicago and since having a car there is "problematic" it will stay at our house over the winter. Currently is has a fresh full tank of Shell V Power premium. I'll drive it to work for a few days this week, top it off and throw some stabilizer in it.

Is there any consensus on the best fuel stabilizer available these days? Any to stay away from?

Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment Gasoline Formula has worked very well for me.

STA-BIL was my go to for many years, no complaints with either.

In my honest opinion, there is no true way to stabilize fuel. I've worked with tons of small engines with small, finicky carburetors, and the only solution is to use ethanol free gasoline. In a car with fuel injection, stale gas is not very likely to cause issues, but in small engines, especially 2 stroke weedeaters and chainsaws, it will wreak havoc.

Honestly, I'd park it with as little fuel as possible and save your money.

I will second StarTron, we used it in the boat for years and it stayed on a lift all winter, I use it in my OPE and have never had any trouble. Of course a lack of problems does not prove a positive but its the one I have been using for 15 years.

I prefer to store a vehicle with a full tank to prevent any condensation. Have parked one of my trucks for 6 months at a time with a full tank of E10 and had no problems starting or running at all. Of course the truck is fuel injected a carbed vehicle may have problems at that length of time.

Non ethanol fuel if available and I add Startron or Stabil too. If ethanol free not available fuel stabilizer will help prolong life of fuel.

I honestly don't know if any of them are very effective at all. All the tests I've seen done, or have done myself, seem to give very little positive result.

The best thing is to keep the car at a stable temperature if possible (inside, shaded, covered) and keep the tank full.

What year is the car? Any issues with it?

2007 Ford Fusion 141,000 miles.. Rusty and some oil leaks.

Any kind of the 3 different Sta-Bils and a full tank should be good for more than a winter. Sta-Bil plus ethanol free gas would be even better. The original Sta-Bil has worked forever and has the longest stabilization at 2 years vs the 360 and Marine at 1 year.

I use MMO in my mower gas. I recently inherited some Dzl-Lene and Stabil and I'm using them now too. No carb issues with any of them. I've also used Seafoam when I had it.

Just drive it to work once a week is more important. I had the same thing when my daughters went away to college freshman year no car allowed. I did nothing but drive it to work once a week.
