I wouldn't have any trouble running my wix filters to 10k. That is though if I used my car everyday, and took longer trips with it.

I don't get your screen name.

What’s there to get? I love Amsoil, and I use it proudly. Seven is my lucky number….Amsoil7.

Look, Amsoil is sold cheap and conveniently located at an old mechanic shop just a hop from my house. However, the filters are not sold there, so I don’t use them. Plus, they are too expensive for me. Do you mean to suggest that because I love the oil, and I have their name in my username, that I should stick only with all of their products? I go with what is best and convenient…I don’t like a lot of fuss when I proceed to change my oil that’s all.

Actually I didn't know any of that, thanks for explaining. I just thought it a bit odd with your screen name you didn't know the best 10K+ oil filter are the Ea0's.

Gotcha.

You don't want the PureOne. On my car they get cloged after or around 4,000 miles. Don't use the PureOne unless you change the filter every 4k to 5k miles.
But the PureOne keeps my oil so clean.
You can keep the PureOne on there for 10k miles, but the oil will be all flowing through the by pass by that point.
You need to use a big oil filter.
I would just use 2 filters to get 10,000 miles.
Right now I use 2 filters one after the other to get my mobil 1 MX4T over the 8,000 mile mark.

I have run Pure Ones for 10,000 miles for years and have not had your problem at all. In fact, at 10,000 miles (cut open) they are dark but no grit in the pleats at all. Suggest you have some specific problem or a misdiagnosis.

Yep ..Ugly provided the donor filter for my bypass valve testing. Before putting it on ..I really thought that my equipment was defective because I never saw a reaction out of it. I was getting frustrated.

The (was it 10k or 9k?) filter still had much practical life in it. If I had to guestimate ..and assuming a progressive decay rate of something along the lines of "half the distance to the goal line" with each like span of dirt introduction ..I would say that it ..at least had 15k in it of 100% service life in it without excessive loading. I only got my reaction out of it due to the heavy oil and the temp it involved. This threw the oil pump into relief ..as soon as that dedicated flow is reestablished ...the filter reduces PSID to very low levels.

Again, YMMV. Your results will depend on how much stuff you dump into the oil per mile. More short trips ..more loading per mile. Even at higher levels ..all short trip ..I would think that you would get bored with it being on there before it would fail due to loading. I used one on my jeep for 13 months and 9k miles and the PC was just fine

If anyone has issues with a PureOne either the filter is defective ..or it's in the presence of a mechanical defect/characteristic/anomaly

I have my 1985 Z28 with a rebuilt 5L V8 carbed engine with about 35,000 miles on it. And my diesel. I just started using Synthetic Shell rotella T in my diesel and I have have been using Mobil 1 MX4T mixed 50/50 with regular "SM/CF" rated M1 10w-30 in the camaro since I got back from japan.
During the summer I will use M1 15w-50 because I have 3 or 4 more oil changes worth of "SJ/CF" mobil 1 15w-50 oil I bought back in 1999. I just found this stuff in my step dads storage building. It had been lost for about 4 years.
I do all my driving in what I call hard core city driving, where 3/4 of my trips don't bring the coolant up to temp and only about 1/10 trips bring the oil up to temp.
Most of my trips I start my car with a cold engine and drive 3 miles to work, shut it off for 8 hours then start it up and go home. Most days there are no side trips, just 3 miles up and 3 back.
All I know is I run Mobil 1 MX4T mixed with regular M1 10w-30 weight all most all the time and a pure one filter I get all most 50 to 60psi when hot at idle.
After 4,000 miles the hot at idle pressure drops to about 20psi and less.
When driving with a used up PureOne the gauge stays pegged at 60 untill the oil gets hot, then I get about 40psi tops when driving. When new it stays all most on 60 when the oil filter is fresh.
When it does this I toss on a new filter with out changing the oil and I have my 50 to 60psi back.
I just don't need all kinds of oil going through the by-pass.
Don't get me wrong I like the PureOne, after hearing all these good things about them and all the bad about using fram. I took off my fram off after it had about 2000 miles and put on a PureOne with out changing oil and my oil went form non see through back to see through dark brown/black.
After that I was hooked.
And that is how the oil in my car and truck most of the time with a good pureone.
