Any recommendations an a cheap 14v or better lithium cordless drill from amazon that you have had good luck with. Do not need a case but 2 batteries would be nice. There are a bazillion choices.

I've gotten great service out of my B&D 20v lithium ion kit. It came with the drill, a 3/8" impact gun, two batteries, charger and soft case. I've had it for a good 5years now and the whole kit was under $100 back then. May have been a refurb. I don't recall. Battery life is outstanding.
Think serious about getting a 1/2 " drill . There are times when you will need it .
I would spend just a few more dollars and a get Milwaukee starter set. The 12V line is super handy and torquey. Fits just about anywhere. You can later upgrade to the better drills and many other 12V tools use the same batteries and charger.
I am a DeWalt 20V guy and a Milwaukee 12V guy.

After having a series of Craftsman cordless drills, I picked up one of these after getting a Lowes giftcard for my birthday about 5 years ago.
I was so impressed, I went and bought a multi tool set about three months ago.
That's a very, very good price and 100% the way I'd go if this is just a tool for general homeowner use.
If you really want a cheap cordless drill that will knock out most of your homeowner maintenance. The walmart Hypertough is not absolutely terrible compared to many cheap ones on amazon.
I have been using one for the past year and a half as a secondary drill with a Ridged brushed drill as my primary. It has yet to fail me and has decent power. I also like that it is also small and compact. It is often the first drill I grab for simple things.

Just how cheap is cheap? I would just get a Ryobi kit at Home Depot. Has a bunch of other tools you can use it with. I use it with their tire inflator which I keep in the car and I have a bunch of other tools. I think their typical black friday sale is just one battery for $59 instead of the two battery kit below for $99, but at least the two are 4ah instead of the cheaper 1.5 or 2 amp hour battery that comes with the single battery kit.

Along the same lines as my post. This will to get you started in a good line up. Can upgrade and not have to start over.
I've had 20V Max since it started. Very happy.
TBH you really only need a second battery if you plan to use it all day. I have the Ryobi brushless 1/2" drill and use it several times/week, but only charge the 1.5 Ah battery about once every month; the battery just seems to last forever! Regardless, the Dewalt package referenced above is an excellent value and will serve you well for many years. It may be more than you ever need, but you will never regret buying the very best.
$39 ish. It sits on a shelf and is used once every 3 months to build a custom pallet. It is used **very rarley**
A corded drill will be cheaper and last a lot longer.
If I have to drag out the corded drill it's for some long heavy duty use. Most sit unused, some near new.
I got one of those too 20v. 1.5amphour. Awesome, inexpensive too and I love the white LED spot light

I had an expensive Hitachi and this blows it away! Compact, comfortable and powerful. for up to 2-1/2 " decking screws
OP appears to be asking about the random Chinese drills on Amazon, of which there are a multitude in the $40 range for a kit with the drill, battery, bits, etc. I would certainly not recommend getting something like that.
If cost is the most important factor I'd much rather send OP to Harbor Freight, Walmart, etc for a house brand item there. Perhaps the same level of quality as the Amazon randos but at least there's an actual store in case you need it.
For homeowner use I am a big proponent of 12v tools (I'm partial to Makita). They will likely handle any job you have and be much nicer to use while doing it. On the rare occasion you actually need something bigger, have a $25 corded Harbor Freight 1/2" drill as a backup.
