Depends on the application. Extended OCI, Flow, Filtration. All have certain pros/con's depending on what you are looking for.

Depends on your need.

does that include big Orange?

HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE! Yikes, I didn't notice the big Orange. I don't like to critize other products but I wouldn't use a Fram for longer than 3000 miles.

AC used to have much more filter media than other lower priced filters. I can't say how it compares to the more expensive ones or even the others now. Any fool with a hacksaw and tape measure can see which has the most media. Quality of the media????

A visual inspection will reveal dome end bypasses, short filter elements, and country of manufacture. With the lack of problems from running terrible looking Frams, thelater may be the most important factor.

I use Mann filters whenever possible for my old Volvo. They work well because they're OE and are apparently engineered for the car. No matter what other filter I've tried, the oil pressure always takes longer to come up on start-up...even PureOne & Wix.
