It was a few years ago, wish I could remember them all. Unfortunately no cameras allowed.
One of the reasons I was there was that they kept screwing up my order and every month I got a different brand. Finally I started importing drums. Now I package my own.

Get the cheapest brake fluid that meets your spec [DOT3].
Has anyone had brake fluid boil problems on the street?
I never heard of it, and I've had Mercedes on the track with the pucks burning and no fluid boil.

I was at a campground once, Dodge (yeah probably never maintained) lost it's brakes, killed a kid. Later it was determined brake fluid was boiling hot. It happens. Use Castrol LMA, or use Amsoil BF. They may not be "the best" but they are good.

I've boiled brake fluid on a 71 mustang undoing the bleeder screws so we could bleed it. The guy isn't sure if the brake fluid had ever been flushed from it. I usually touch the bleeders with the propane torch to loosen them up. When the fluid came out it was steaming and hot!. Got the lines bled and finally clean fluid through all of the system. The rear wheel cylinders were bone dry!

No, it's not the same. The fluid in the new white bottles has been "downgraded" to typical DOT 4 standards.
It doesn't have the same spec that made Synpower better than the average OTC fluid.

Used the new white bottle Valvoline DOT3/DOT4 during a brake job on a G35 today.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here, and I have looked but didn't find any information on this topic... My father has a 1963 Alfa Romeo Guilia Spider, and he has used Castrol GT LMA brake fluid since he got the car... Well he bought a whole case a long time ago and has finally run out the other day. So he ordered some from a distributor that we found here locally and they sent it in Quarts, but now it says "New Formula" on the front, and it says synthetic...the old bottles didn't say this... His car has the original rubber seals in the system, and we don't want them to deteriorate. Do you know if this oil is still vegetable based or not, and if it is safe to use in his car? Thanks for any help/advice!

All brake fluid is synthetic, LMA included. Boy this synthetic causes leaks thing sure has turned into billboard myth material. LMA Vegetable based? Never heard that one before. I'm sure the LMA is still fine to use, but I can't necessarily say what is improved about this iteration.

thanks Pablo, I was just worried because the owner of the car before my father used regular fluid in the car and it ate the seals, and since my father has been using the Castrol GT LMA brake fluid the "new" "original" rubber seals from his parts car are holding up perfect... I just wanted to make sure that the new fluid chemical makeup wouldn't compromise the seals...

$6.99 for a qt of DOT 4 isn't a bad price. Advance just had (maybe still does?) Valvoline products on sale - 1/2 of the 2nd bottle. Good timing for me because I needed two qts of DOT4.
FYI: Cheapest everyday price for name brand DOT4: Wal-Mart has Prestone DOT4 for about $2.49 (12 oz bottle). I've used it many times - no complaints.
