I have a love/hate affair with all of them. Lately, Advance Auto has been my favorite for local parts.
However, Advance Auto's online store (Parts America?) is awful. Last order I sent them took weeks to send as they were out of stock of a lot of things in my order. Of course, they made no mention of this when I shopping or checking out. Here I am, with a broken car, waiting on parts I bought online that were weeks away. I was slightly cheesed.
I complained and all they did was say how Parts America has nothing to do with Advance Auto and how there was no way that Advance Auto's online ordering could say if anything was out of stock. I throw the cow patty flag on this, as they were related enough to take my money! Oh yeah, the webpage says "Advanced Auto, powered by Parts America!" Yet, no relation? Ha!
When the stuff finally came, it came in six different boxes spread out over a three week period. They only sent me one tracking number, so after I got the first box, I called to complain that my order had been shorted. Then they "found" the rest of the tracking numbers.
I'm trying to remember the online place that was around about ten years ago. They were like the Amazon of online auto parts - everything was low priced, shipping was cheap, and you got your stuff quickly. I remember getting four Sensatrac shocks for my Ranger for like $60 shipped with a coupon I had. What was there name? I forget. Might have been CarParts.com, but I recall them closing and all traffic for that page being redirected to NAPA or something. Now that page seems like it's back and working, but the format is unfamiliar.
