Best 9006 Bulbs

I'll say again, the HIR2 bulbs in the Buick's low beams were the single best lighting upgrade I've done. There's enough light to often make the high beams unnecessary.

Everyone, be careful about using HIR2 9012 bulbs in place of 9006. If your car does not have cup-shaped bulb shields for the low beams, YOU SHOULD NOT USE 9012 BULBS!

9012 bulbs do not have a full blacktop on the glass capsule, so they will dazzle oncoming traffic if the car does not have cup-shaped bulb shields.

Benzadmiral--the Park Avenue does not have the proper bulb shields, so disregard advice to use HIR2 9012 bulbs. High-beam 9011 are OK, though.

My headlights have full shields over the tops of the bulbs, so they're fine. I've stood in front of my car, driven in front of it at night, and spent lots of time at the wheel. There's no glare.

Update, all,

I popped the Philips bulbs into the Buick. Yes, the lights *seem* a little brighter, but then the old bulbs were at least 3 and possibly up to 8 years old. We'll see about the longevity.
