What would you recommend as the best 5w40 oil available in Europe? I would like some PAO or Ester 5w40 synthetic.

I had used Motul 300V 5w40, but it is a bit expensive and I am not sure if it can be used in a daily driver.

Now I bought a used car that has used Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 for all its life (190 000km), but I don't hear anything good about this oil on this server.

First I thought that I will go with Motul 8100 X-cess 5w40, but as I am reading threads on this server, I see that this is also not PAO/ester oil, so now I'm confused.

Any suggetions on some 5w40 PAO oil?

Thank you all

You should check out the GTX Magnatec 5W-40 or the Castrol Enduron Plus SAE 5W-40 which are both available in the Czech. The Magnatec is a semi synthetic and the Enduron Plus is a full synthetic.

Also check out the SYNTHOIL HIGH TECH 5 W-40, TOP TEC 4100 5 W-40 and the LEICHTLAUF HC 7 5 W-40 from Lubro Moly. The High Tech is a full synthetic and the other 2 are Hydro Cracked.

If you are ever in Germany you can pick up some Pentosynth 5W-40 real cheap at Wal Mart .

Mobil Synt S 5w40 is any good?

How old is the Prelude? They stopped selling it stateside years ago. Did Honda recommend 5w40 oil in Europe back then? Out of curiosity, what oils do they recommend in their current engines in Europe? Here in the US, they recommend 5w20 for most of their engines.

year 98. Here in EU, Honda recommends anything from 5w30 to 10w40, I think 5w40 is the best compromise.

I have created a new thread with some oils listed, which is probably more well-arranged. Please vote for your favorite, thanks.
