Best 12V car vac

Hi,

As my weeknights are spent at my apartment, which does not have outside power, and weekends are chancy at best for having time to vacuum, Id like to get a small 12V car vac to at least do some vacuuming at lunchtime, etc.

I have a whisk broom that I use to get carpets and mats clean, but it lacks in some departments, like when there are very small prticles engrained real deep, and when working in some crivices with odd geometry.

What is the best 12V car vac? Preferably american made, if such a thing exists... Id liek one that can possibly take small attachments to get into tight spots, etc.

I'm really looking for a cigarette lighter-powered unit.

Are there any decent rechargable handheld ones? Sometimes I use my dustbuster, but Id like something that uses a flexible hose and perhaps has a bit more juice.

I googled "12v car vacuum", there's a "pro" model for $40, & the Globalxxx(Asian site, I think) shows pix of a cig lighter powered, small canister type vac w/hose & attachments, maybe that's available form someone here in the USA?

Oops, "little rechargeable hand held ones" is what some people call a dust buster. Same thing.
The little guy from Bass Pro Shops looks like a good match. It a cheapo, but it's not like you need one that's bulletproof for cleaning car mats once in a while, right? (And don't forget about garage sales, spring is just around the corner!)

Heck, that looks so good...Standard shipping is only $6.95, according to the website. It's on *Closeout*, too! Hmm, I gotta leave & go within 40 miles of a Bass Pro in a few minutes...$20 & I don't have to dig out the house vac or the big super-duper shop vac...Doggone it, JHZR2, this is all *your* fault! 8D

Here's the deal: I'll blame it on you, you blame it on me, we'll then both be good modern people who always blame someone else, plus it'll all cancel out!

I have the March 2006 edition of Consumer Reports in front of me, and they did a review of vacuums in this one. However, they only did [uprights, canisters and] those little rechargeable hand held ones. Is that what you're looking at, or are you looking for something else?
