Yep, much more smooth shifts, both up and down.
Also I experienced that when you take your foot off the accelerator to cruise and slow down you lose velocity slower after you change the fluid due to a reduction in friction, this is a good thing as some cars feel like you are braking when you stop accelerating.

So where did you find this transmission fluid? I have never heard of it before.

Valvoline Maxlife ATF is available at most auto parts stores nationwide. It's easy to find & synthetic according to Valvoline.

I've used nothing but M1 ATF for 20 years now. Benefits... Never had a transmission or PS pump failure. Fluid stays very clean, even after 40K. Transmission upshifts and down shifts very good. Transmission stays cooler. Less fluid changes.

ok only one quart came out of 12 [censored] is wrong? its a 2004 v6 alero automatic 12 quart capacity i pulled the drainplug after 1 quart it stopped coming out?

Small pan capacity? Low fluid level initially?

I assume you've pulled the pan to clean it & replace the filter (also assuming it is equipped with one). How much ATF does it take to register 'full' on the dipstick?

so i did some reaearch and aparently the drainplug only lets out one quart on aleros you have to drop the pan to get most out its a 12 quart capacity so im going to losten some of the bolts on the pan since the filter is new im not going to change it but i still want to change out the atf with this synthetic. but the couple quarts i got out were pretty nasty very dark red almost brown didnt really smell to burnt but its also half new half old so i cant wait to see how it is with new synthetic.

Sounds like an excellent opportunity to do a cooler line flush if available - no need to drop the pan at all.

Some heater hose, a funnel, a bucket and a helper are all you need.

I don't see how dropping the pan is going to let out anymore fluid then what came out of the drain plug. Unless the car is sitting on it's side.

If only one quart came it, it was way underfilled.

sorry whats a cooler line flush? and aparently after doing a extensive online search for aleros the ONLY way to get the atf out is through the pan or at a dealer with a t-tech machine to vaccuum it out. for some reason it doesnt come out of the drain plug. everypost i found everyone said they just loosened some bolts on the transmission pan and let it flow out :/

Aleros do not have a drain plug.

They do have a check plug on the side of the case, You might get a quart out of that if the engine is off and all the fluid has settled to the pan.
