What about misting water into the throttle body as I rev it a tad from a spray bottle.... or even better ATF heck that stuff has some freaky detergent properties, not sure if it would cause any gunk buildup when burned in a motor or if it would just clean the heck out of it. Also would the best way to tell if it has worked be to check a certain plug before and after or is there a better way?

The water works well for cc deposits [done correctly]. Won't help your fuel system, and not much for valve deposits, though.
I wouldn't use ATF [cat converter problems, and ATF does not have high detegency - around here that is proven a myth]
I just bought a gallon of FP.

The best way for a close look into the combustion chamber is with a boroscope .

Misting water in that way will not work . I'd use a dedicated cleaner , many are available .

I have used water many times especially in AMC 232 and 258 engines . Those were prone to carbon either hanging a valve open or slapping the cylinder head when positioned on either the piston or head chamber.

In 1981 I remember a AMC Concorde with the problem at 11k miles .Water fixed it at the dealer and I fixed our sweetie pie 1966 Rambler Station Wagon more than a few times like that .

She's gone but not forgotten
