It's hard work, and you need to go fast. Feels good though.

Always keep an eye out for pests. Hive beetle, etc.

Yes, definitely! Wife is quite vigilant. We have a couple of old shingles under the hive to keep the grass down. This should help keep pests out as it's said that long grass under the hive promotes infestation.
