BB Bold ot HTC trophy? or neither?

Verizon is offering us low prices on those 2 phones as a 'loyalty gift' or whatever.
We currently have BB Perals. which are now discontinued, and 'old' by today's standards...they function pretty well for basic needs, but lately we've been interested in a 'global ready' (via SIM card activation) phone with perhaps a bit larger screen...
Both above are global ready. the HTC has 'windows phone' platform..

Which one is better in terms of reliability...having owned a BB pearl we sort of know what would be good/better on the Bold, but I have no clue about the HTC phones...esp. with 'windows phone' platform..

I was really hoping to get an Android based phone next - if they have global service... but none of them are on their special offer.


any thoughts/feedback?

I'd get the Bold.

Otherwise just wait for a good deal on Android, there's new promos every few weeks. You can get the Motorola Citrus for free right now.

'Droid 2 global' seemed interesting, until i read reviews - looks like freeze-ups and random reboots galore with that one...

Yup. I'm on my 3rd D2G in just 3 months. The first two kept random rebooting all the time.

That does it - no droid 2 then.
How about the Droid X or X2? seem to have better reviews...

But then I am not sure about them being global ready...

Edit: only incredible 2 and droid pro are global ready, it seems.

Are they offering the 9700 or 9780? Both are decent phones. I'm a big BB fan however.

I miss my 9700. My 9780 has the buggy keyboard issue. Such a PITA.

Father had an HTC Touch Pro 2 that he was able to return after using it for 4 months in exchange for a Samsung Mesmerize.

The HTC's screen would cease to function when it was cold outside. At first it was only at temps below freezing, but then it was any temp below upper 40s. He'd have it in its case on his belt, it would ring and he'd be unable to unlock the screen to take the call, having to rub it vigorously on his pant leg to heat up the screen enough for its touch sensors to function.

I had that issue (I'm OVERKILL on BBforums as well) and Rogers replaced the phone for me no questions asked.
