All, looking for a battery powered low cost blower. When we camp I climb up on the ladder and sweep the slides off before pulling them in (leaves, dirt from races etc...). I'm thinking a battery powered leaf blower would work good in this application. the other area I see using this blower is on our back patio to move dirt and debris from the wind. Give me your thoughts please. I'd like to keep it under $100.

If you want to keep it under $100, Ryobi is the only option I know of. I have the tiny 18V blower and it is great for small tasks like patio furniture, blowing dog hair out of the car, garage floor, etc. For bigger jobs I would go with a more powerful 18V unit or step up to a 40V unit. HD has them on sale sometimes for reasonable prices.

I have one of the best ryobi battery blowers it will barely remove grass from top of tractor mowing deck.
If will blow dry grass off cement but not damp.

You probably want something with high MPH, could get a cheap corded one for $40.

or get something to match current tools and batteries.. 100$ does not go to far if you need batteries too.

I think I know where you are going here... I have an 18 Volt cordless drill from Menards (Tool Shop brand). I looked and they don't have a blower. I was trying to keep batteries common, but no success.

I have a 2 stroke Ryobi blower that I can use for bigger jobs like cleaning up grass and leaves. This blower will have a specific purpose as stated above. It will be used for a short period of time and not in heavy applications

you want mph as the best stat not CFM.

My ceiling fan is 2600 cfm but it does not blow much debris around.

you want at least 150mph but realize many measure it in the housing not the end of the pipe which is artificially inflating the number.

For example one of the majors measures their backpack blower in the housing and says its 232mph but my echo at 212mph was actually faster.

The floor blower I have is 90mph and 3000cfm.. it wouldnt do the job very well either.

compare to even a very modest cheap 2 cycle leaf blower

I could suggest you start your cordless tool collection using Milwaukee M18 batteries. I have a Milwaukee cordless hand held blower. Its not the same power as my 2 cycle backpack blower but it does a good job.
 
Seriously doubt you will find decent quality/performance at that price point. Will gladly say by far the best blower I've had/used is the fairly new EGO 650cfm model. Thing is on par with larger commercial backpack blowers and makes short work of anything... snow, rocks, dirt, you name it. I mention them as they build a fantastic unit, but of course not the cheapest.

I personally don't look at MPH ratings as many bottleneck the CFM to reach those exaggerated numbers. I get far more done with an open nozzle with less wind speed. 650 cfm from a battery powered blower is quite impressive.

Thats both true and not true. MPH does not matter that much IF you have enough.
to clarify:
your blower is upto 180mph.

you can buy a 650CFM 90MPH stupid blower that wont move grass off cement.

Once you get to a certain speed threshhold mph really only affects the scouring .. ie wet leaves stuck in grass.
CFM is what moves/keeps moving the pile you are blowing.

But when blowing dirt off a slide you need a minimum MPH/force.

In general I would definitely agree CFM> air speed.

Its why my echo X series 8010 with 1071CFM @212mph moves piles much better than the pb-755t which is 651CFM@232 mph
although the 755 does peel up really stuck to the ground debris slightly better.. nothing I have ever used moves the pile like the 8010.

I bought the makita 36v a few years back. I have a great husquvarna backpack blower for yard work, the battery unit would never replace that. But I use the battery one for drying cars after washing.

That said, if you have a camper with power, and that’s your intended use, I wouldn’t go battery at all. At another property I have a small ryobi corded blower and it works great. I’d buy one of those instead for your use.

My brother has a Milwaukee thats decent. It handles my parents place pretty well. They even live in a woods.

I have too many dewalt tool batteries to justify another platform. It was good to see a positive on Dewalt in an above post.
 
"Battery powered" and "low cost" dont exist in the same universe.

I have a 20V Dewalt that I received for my birthday. We needed one for camping and travel as well as being able to use in the garage and the barn without setting off the smoke alarms.
It does well but with a 5AH battery you only get about 10-12 minutes of legit blowing out of a charge. It travels way better than my Stihl BG55 gas blower.
