My old battery charger bit the dust. Looking for a 6/12 V charger, with both normal charge and a trickle charge settings. Would like something simple, small and low cost. Any specific brands and models?

I get by with a 6/2 amp model not unlike this one:

It's not "smart" by any means, but this is a positive if you just want something that will work. Plug it in for six amps overnight and you'll be "full enough" to start. The two amp mode will do your trickle though you shouldn't leave it hooked up forever.

Noco G3500 is a great bang for the buck, both 6v/12v charge settings with 3.5 amp output, but charges faster than most in that rating. Also has a 0.9A output for small batteries. It's about $60 bucks online at amazon. Extremely safe and smart microprocessor controlled chargers.

The Noco G7200 is the better product for a different person, with 12v/24v settings, but it's the smallest model they make with the advance desulfation mode. It's about $97 bucks.

The G3500 has desulfation mode, just not as advanced for 12v batteries as the G7200.

If i needed the 6v mode i'd get the G3500. Both are on my next charger to buy list.

Me, too, although the one I have maxes out at 2A, so if your battery is dead, it may take quite some time to charge it. But for topping up, it's great.

Watch out with that six amp! I was topping up a battery and the water soon boiled. Id use 6a if in a hurry to get going or 2a for a set it and forget it, peaceful so you can rest at night.
