Hi guys,
I just got the B-2 for my old truck to use on my next oc.
I immediately noticed how heavy it is.
It's been 25 years since I last used a Baldwin,mainly cause they are hard to find.
I also like the bright red paint.
Anyone have any experience with these lately?
I plan on using it for 6k or a year.I change oil each October when it finally cools off from summer,this is my end of summer treat.
I think some on here understand.

I feel they are just about like WIX. They seem popular on farm equipment which I feel is proof in the pudding that they are good filters.

Hey Dallas,
BTW: There is something to that red filter. :))
We use to use them on the tractors we ran on our farm. They were cheaper when buying in bulk and the local implement dealer could not touch them in price. I have from time to time used them on a Dodge Ram that I have. I normally use the Fleetguard or Donaldson filters just depends on what I have on hand at the time. Use them with confidence...

Well built filters, but not very efficient based on the stats I had them e-mail to me on two applications I use. I'd still use them again, but there are more efficient filters out there for less $$.

I like the red color and was running Baldwins on my Chevy motorhome and F150. The F150 took Motorcraft FL1A and the Baldwin had the Ford-style threaded end bypass valve, but for my Plymouth Voyager, Ford Escort, and Ford Ranger, which take Motorcraft FL400, the Baldwin does not have the threaded end bypass, so I am buying Wix for everything now.

I did some research on the design parameters and I believe (double check) the Wix has higher burst strength than the Baldwin, but the Baldwin should be in Ford spec.

I would keep using Baldwins if you like them. For me it is 10 times easier to get Wix, than Baldwin, as there is only one store with Baldwin on my side of town and it is about 12 miles away in an area I usually don't go.

Take a look at the B7311-MPG filter. If you have the room it should filter better(I would call Baldwin first) than the B2.

B2=18
B75=40

Average Efficiency = 74.65%
Media sq.in.: 163.6
Capacity: 11.5 grams
Media Grade: L60-50

In my area, they are available in a lot of hardware and auto parts stores. I even know of a NAPA store that sells them. Of course, I'm just a short distance away from the factory. I don't use them on my vehicles for the simple fact that they never are available on sale. But they are used on on a lot of heavy equipment and ag engines in this area.

Yep. FL1A is a big filter by today's standards.

If you don't want a bigger filter, get a better one. B2-HPG
