This is off of 2019 F250 with 51,000 miles on it. The filter was in use for 3 months and 6,000 miles. I switched our fleet over to Baldwin when I noticed the Motorcraft filters tearing. I guess these aren’t any better.

I've already contacted the tech department. They said that they can't test the filter because it's already cut. They said to send one that hasn't been cut yet for evaluation. They did say that if flow was the problem, I could use the B40150 filter instead of the B329. It's the same filter but longer with more filter media.

Just move on to another brand. This is nothing new.

I have worked out a deal with the commercial manager of our local AAP. They are ordering and selling us cases of the Fram Force filters (Tough Guard) at a discounted price. We'll try those for a while and see how they hold up.

Suuuure.

I'd like to know how Baldwin is able to "test" for insanely wide pleats and torn media without the filter being cut open? Perhaps someone there has X-ray vision, lol.

Did you send them the photos?

They didn’t want to mess with this filter. They said me cutting made it undiagnosable. They wanted to check the media for restriction.

Should have asked them what's that got to do with super wide pleats? I take it that's what you were contacting them about - the wide pleats and torn media.

Maybe they don't understand that wide pleats is the root cause of torn media.

I did. He tried to explain to me that wide pleats near where the media comes together is naturally caused by the machinery that seals the two pieces together and that there’s nothing you can do about it and all manufactures have wider pleat spacing there. At that point I felt it was best to just get off the phone and find a new filter for us to use.

He obviously hasn't seem many other filter brands pleat spacing ... none are as bad as this one. Baldwin needs to get some better manufacturing processes if this is the standard pleat spacing due to the limits of the machinery.

They have been a member for a long time...i found out long ago they are just a name from the past.
And if you read this thread you see they don't even care...sad
Of course, they never answered my torn peat base email either. Customer care and quality doesn't seem to be important to them. They're out for me...

Was a Bladwin Filter fan for many years but something happended about 5 years or so ago, they really have gone down hill on some of their filters and I no longer consider them when shopping for filters.
