I have emailed Pennzoil to ask them to please define their date code system....I found and bought some more qts. I believe they are from 2003...but the example given above is not correct in all cases. I have found that there are at least three date code systems used. I will post the answer....if they get back at me.

In the meantime I have changed oil and gone with my 50/50 brew.

Well..it's not a big deal anymore...I just got some Maxlife Engine Protectant...I ran the Penz LL in my air cooled Harley...that's why I liked the Moly....anyway..I have a 3 year supply of LL...just bought it before I found out about the reformulation...the Maxlife should give me enough Moly...ya think ???? I also use it in my 454 but I don't need the Moly there...ya think ????

I tried to contact Pennzoil this way before too, and I did not get a response. I suggest sending a PM to Johnny the Pennzoil rep on this site. He was very helpful in answering my Pennzoil related questions.

I've been using valvoline Premium Blue for the last 10,000 miles.
