So i got a filter that had some weird bumps. I thought it was rust at first until i cut into it. Turns out it was just some bad paint i guess. What do you guys think?

That filter never had a chance.
Try the longer 7317 next time
Cut it fully open so we can see the insides.
Might have missed the wash step before paint, or otherwise had some contaminant like oil end up on the can between wash and paint. Paint just didnt adhere.

walmart tle filters only. From my understanding they are the same as the orange can just without the sure grip.

Wow-forgot to put pleats in that one!
Pleats are optional on OCODs... even for all their shortcomings, they earned their name honestly
Maybe it was laying on a battery and got attacked by acid fumes. Anyway I was feeling a little sad today, and the picture of the inside pleats was good for some laughs. It even has the loved center tube exposed with off center end cap design. It took a minute to see the second picture from further down was not something cut from window blinds. Thanks
