I've hurt my back from lifting wrong back in March and thought I had recovered, but I guess not because I did it again three weeks ago. The second time was worse and I hate to say was just from aggressively whacking weeds with a garden hoe! I'm more on the skinny side vs. heavy but now in 60's so I guess old age is showing up.
Now I am looking on Amazon for options for a back support or belt. I'm thinking of going with a "Mueller Sports Medicine Lumbar Back Brace" like this picture below but I've never worn one before so thought I would ask for any suggestions or recommendations. Like maybe this example is to wide?
I plan to put it on when leaning over the vehicle engine bays and doing other work around the house that requires lifting, etc.
As an aside, I never comprehended how debilitating it is when your back goes out. The first few days were horrible: not being able to stand up, struggling to move, and my god those sharp stabbing pains. Now three weeks out I've improved greatly, with mostly just dull and a few mild pains every now and then. I would not wish this on anyone and hope to avoid this situation again...
