For many years, I' heven't been using oil additives, as I realized what a waste and scam they generally are. Used them a lot before I knew better...a lot!

Just before i got rid of my last car (2002 Cavalier), I had used some 'Fram oil stabilizer' in it, as I found a quart of it at a Dollar store for just $2. You can't get a quart of oil for $2!

I used some of it in the Cavalier, and the rest in my Tribute to use it up. Got really low wear numbers on the UOA I used it on, so it may have helped.

Didn't plan on buying anymore, but I was in CT the other day, and they had, lo and behold, 1-quart bottles of 'Motomaster Oil stabilizer' on for $6, 50% off...and i had to bite.

So, I will most likely use this for the next couple of OC's, at a 1/2 quart per oil change. Can't hurt, it's actually not that thick, not like Lucas.

I regularly use LC20, per their instructions, in my 2 vehicles. Both show spotless heads, not even varnish build up, when looking through the oil fill. My car has been going 8500 mile OCI's with Schaeffer Blend 5w30 SL. My truck goes 5000 miles with Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend. The car is 17 years old and the truck is 11 years old.

that good that you stick with ONLY 1 you think it work, and not like most peoples ( include myself ) try every dam thing on the shelf, that is where they go you.

same with above post, some time if I feel like add something to engine oil, I add 16oz MMO to engine oil before change.

Recently I did add some seafoam to my fresh oil QS defy and only 2 week with 50 miles, oil came out dark that made me scare. But car after that run so much better and healthy, I properly wont do it in future with another car.

You better change your signature, Seafoam is the biggest snake oil of all.

Why would dark oil after 50 miles "scare" you to no longer use an additive....? Sounds like you could possibly have some sludge/carbon build up that got cleaned......but that's some miracle results there.....50 miles and the oil is already dark...?

Granted....haven't used Defy yet, but I'd suspect it be a golden color....and not "black" out of the bottle, corerct...?

But yea, this sounds like miracle results to me.....50 miles and black oil.....my oil gets "dark" after 200 miles...but not BLACK

Granted....the oil on the dipstick is hard to tell the true color....but I know the difference between jet "black" and "brown" on a shop towel.

I personally would run the Seafoam a tad longer next time...perhaps 200 miles or so.....Seafoam themselves warrant the use of Seafoam in the crankcase for 3000 miles...though I'd definitely suggest a oil filter replacement half way through a long OCI like that, particularly if it's a known sludger...

Im a BIG fan of slow cleaner, seafoam is shock me because it turn my oil into dark oil so fast, I drain it out and put in fresh oil and filter. btw I stop add stuff to engine oil a long time ago, but time to time if im in the mood i do add little bit of mmo to crankcase before oil change due.

A little bit wont hurt. Do it!

Additives? Oils all have loads of them, so they are not so horrible.
If we add a little moly/boron or a gentle cleaner here and there, it seems perfectly fine to me.
