It's been nearly a year since you joined, and I'm just wondering if you ever changed the oil in your car or are you still prepping with your questions?[/quote
bought the car on march,on February the previous owner put mc blend in it at the dealership,1000km and a month later i couldnt take it anymore and put the castrol stop start 5w30 a5,the car is definitely quieter, most of the week im doing like 3 miles a day and only on the weekends go on the highway.
i know the mazda can live with just about any oil and when i will sell it will be less 60k on the engine but like oils and to know as much as possible about them,
fetish.

Any Xw-30 oil that meets ACEA A3 spec will be formulated on the "thick" side of 30 grade.

ALL ACEA A3 oils are on the thick side of W30 and mostly on thin side of W40.
Forget that, make sure it has MB 229.5 and forget everything else.
And yes, Castrol 0W30 AEA A3 is very, very good oil (I use it in VW).

In that case the ACEA equilivent oil would be A5/B5. Your manual has a VERY WIDE spread of approved oils!

but can use the a3 no problem to the converters,to much/less solfats, ash ex? im not an expert sorry.

A5/B5 is an energy (fuel) conserving oil. A3/B3/4 is for high performance engines and extreme engine protection. With the specs you stated for your car you could (and I would) run just about any oil. It seems you are looking for the "best" and with modern specs there is no such oil (for your car).

yep in everything, used to buy redline for my stock cts get this-
for 154$per oil change, only for the oil,no filter no labor nothing.
stupid but like the best, csn get the edge,m1 ex for a third of the price so why not.heck drove the same car of my neighbor with a mc blend and it was pretty quiet.
this oil obsession im telling you.

but can use an a3oil in an a5 car right?
not getting cured from that obsession any time soon...

Why does it matter in your case? You don't have a car that calls for either one of these specs.

first somtimes i do get stuck in traffic in a very very hot weather, second i need an oil that can take the fuel dilution from all thos daily very very short trips and third im like that i like the feeling my car gets the best, put the tires that is oem in bmw, merc and Porsche,i could use a cheaper ones but all those things add up to a good feeling for me and even if most of it is a plasibo its still there.i just love the best in everything and look for perfection in everything in life.even if its to much .its my character cant help it.maybe one day ill grow up.

Why not just buy Redline then, like you did with your CTS?

beacuse its 154 $for only the oil and thats beyond stupid even for me.castrol or m1 will be more than fine, its a mazda after all,so trying to find the best in a sain area.
