Just bought a used one yr old craftsmen mower with the 7.0 torque with Ready Start. I read they can be a hassle starting when hot?? true? so far mine starts on second pull everytime but from what I read its gets worse with age.

Is this the B&S that doesn't require a primer bulb (press 3x before starting type)?
If so, it's carb with built in auto-choke (walbro LMS type mainly).
Enjoy it while you can, and do not use anything in gas that would cause your intake valves to stick during storage (e.g. addtives/brightstock/pale oil that would cause intake valve to stick/gum up).
You can dowse the carb with gas stabiliser such as Sta-bil red/marine and it will be fine.

Is this the one with the little bi-metallic button on the exhaust, with a linkage that runs to the carb to actuate the choke?
That's what my Briggs 850 "professional series" OHV has.
It's OK. 1-3 pulls for cold start is typical and a single light pull once hot. The only time mines gets annoying is if I tip it back to scape the underside of the deck. It's hard to start afterwards due to flooding I assume.

thanks for the tips... I did run it was stabil-fuel before storage. I'm really not sure how the ready start works on this mower. It definately does not have the bulb system on the carb like my Toro does.
