Replacing the ujoints just caused me more problems. I was using a ball joint c-clamp to remove the ujoints and in the process, pressure was applied to the slip yoke….
This was my first time doing this and nothing ever goes well for me😫

Do i just replace the rubber piece that separate them and put it back together somehow? Just pound it back into place (gently) and hope for the best?
Effect on the driveshaft balance?
Even if i were to just put it back together, with or without a new rubber piece, how do i make sure it is on perfectly so it is balanced?

I appreciate any thoughts!

Can i drive with it off for now?
Yeah, no problem. Probably won't even notice. Looks like a Ford part. I've replaced a few of these. I replaced it on my F150 with a Ford OEM part that didn't have the ring that you broke. Aftermarket parts don't have it either. They have a few revisions of that part over the years. I wonder if they added that harmonic balancing ring so they don't have to balance the shaft assembly perfectly.

Thanks for the replies.
It took quite a bit of pressure to get it to move in the first place. I just hammered it back into place and left it on. I should not fall off but I’ll check it out.
Took truck for a drive and the drive is smoother with the new ujoints.
