Hey guys,

Aside from jacks/jumper cables, interested in what types of supplies you guys keep in your car/trucks. For a Jeep I just picked up, I bought a igloo and put some oil, coolant and fix-a-flat can. I put them in an igloo in case any of them spill.

What do you guys keep in your vehicles?

Not a whole lot.

Jumper cables wound around the spare tire (which is properly inflated & checked regularly). Cheap tire kit with valve stem tool, valve cores, plug kit. Digital pressure gauge. Cell phone charger.

In my regular driver's; a small pump, plug kit, small tool kit and cables.

In my trail Jeep, way too much to list here (welding stuff, on board air, many spare parts, you get the idea).

Compact socket set, a bottle of brake fluid, oil, coolant, transmission and power steering fluid. jumper cables, spare accessory belt, OBD II scanner.... All these minus the coolant jug fit inside the spare tire well.

I have a $20 roadside emergency kit that includes cables, sockets and various other things, and a 3 day emergency back pack for earthquakes.

Sounds like you'd be better off just towing a japanese car - zing!

Seriously, though. I'll have DI water if I recently messed with the cooling system to fill any air pockets that may come up. Simple tool kit.
Yanked the flat spare out of my car recently and gained some nice trunk space. New tires went on today and I've never [knock on wood] had a tire issue. Would worry more for a long trip or somewhere without cell service.

LOL...one reason I am a Toyota owner...I have Toyota Care which includes roadside assistance. But I still carry jumper cables in case I see a super hot damsel in distress.

I have this in my glove box.

So far, I have used it to fix an upper radiator hose, a transmission line that rubbed against the frame, and a water pump gasket. The person who recommended it to me used it to splice a fuel line which impressed me.

Obviously, you this would be a temporary fix to get you home or off the trail.

None. Not even a set of jumper cables.

All of my vehicles are maintained well enough so that I've never had a breakdown, and I keep them that way. I've kept the number for a local towing service in my wallet should I ever need it, and my wife has the same information.

We've never needed it.

My stepmother always insisted that before I drove anywhere, I have a trunk full of junk for emergencies.

I don't carry the water, gas can, transistor radio...etc... that she insisted. It really ate up the capacity of a 1981 Mustang notchback's already tiny trunk. I still carry a small blanket from Costco that folds up to the size of a small throw pillow, a high vis-yellow rain poncho that is about the size of a 12oz can of soda, LED flashlight about the size of a roll of quarters and the pre-requisite jumper cables of course. It all fits neatly in the spare tire well.

In my wifes Fusion I have a small socket set, a cigerette lighter air pump and tire plug kit.

In my truck lives the bulk of my non pneumatic tools as I dont really have a shed or garage at my house to store them, a quart of oil, a quart of transmission fluid, 2 bottle jacks, tire plugs, small air pump, and jumper cables.

Both vehicles have a cell phone in them when drivin and Ford roadside assistance.

I always have jumper cables (as mentioned above) but have never used them to start my own vehicle.

Aside from a flat tire due to road debris (which was quickly & easily changed) I've never had a breakdown either.

Colt, you haul the CRT because you don't like the small display on your laptop that you use for diagnostics, right?

Myself, I don't carry as much as I used to. When I had the old LTD, I used to carry plenty of stuff since each road trip was almost a guaranteed breakdown of some sort.

Now, it's hard for me to not carry litres of oil, having had so many burners in the past. I don't miss that.

Same here but I'm going to stick cables in the cars as the S-I-L was stranded at Olive Garden last Sunday due to a dead battery... Luckily the AAA garage was two blocks away so she got help in a few minutes...

Most months, nothing special. Just the spare in the trunk and a small "emergency" kit that has some cables, tow rope, and some other misc junk I will probably never use. During winter though, I do keep some nonperishables on hand, in case I get stuck and have to wait a while.

Cellphone should take care of the rest.
