I just changed my oil/filter on my 95 BMW 525i with Mobil 1 5w40 about 1,500 miles ago.

Now I want to do Auto RX treatmnt. Does this sound like an OK procedure so as not to waste six quarts of Mobil 1?

Change filter. My BMW uses a top paper filter in a canister that can be removed with draining oil. Then remove enough oil to fill back up with Auto RX. Then run Auto RX per Frank's instructions. Sound OK?

Thanks, Russell

That is what your are supposed to do. Change the filter and leave the existing oil in as it has at least 1,500 miles of life left in it. Some oil will come out inside the filter.

Just change the filter and add the AutoRX.

Please revisit www.auto-rx.com and read application instructions. You can add Auto-Rx in cleaning mode to any oil.In the rinse mode you want to use a non synthetic oil (synthetic-semi synthetic-high mileage all contain synthetic esters whose job is to help bind oil to metal thats fine unless you want to clean contaminants off the metal, which you do) thats why you use non synthetic oil for 2000 miles (no synthetic esters in Conventional Oil) Non Synthetic Oil will cause no problem to your engine.

On another matter if Auto-Rx causes level on your dipstick to rise don't worry Auto-Rx is not oil or a solvent and in a 100 miles it will be on engine parts anyhow and dip stick will go back to previous level.

Frank,
Rechecked the instructions on your site. As I thought, it is ok to do as i suggested for the first phase and use NON-synthetic for the rinse phase.

Appreciate your help. Will order in a day or so.
