Since I have used Amsoil Series 2000 0w30 for aprox. 1 year and change oil and filter every 4k miles and drive aprox. 10-12k miles a year and then switched to Amsoil Series 3000 5w30 HDD the past two years with same amount of drive miles and oil and filter changes, would a maintenance dose of 3 oz. clean any sludge or varnish away or do I need to go throught the cleaning and rinse process?

When I look through the oil filler cap on the 97 Intrepid I can't see into the engine and what I can see looks like varnish. On the 96 Nissan Pathfinder I can see further into the engine and it looks like a light brown varnish color and I don't see any real sludge.

No the maintence dosage is for use after you have properly cleaned and rinsed the engine with a proper dosage of AUto-Rx.

I ran a 2x A/Rx cleaning exactly per instructions on my 1992 Toyota 6 cyl 4x4 pickup that ran Amsoil,M1 or Redline oils since 800 miles, the once per oil changes were around 5,000 to 7,500 miles, because I had another vehicle and drove the work van home. So at 85,000 miles the cleaning made the engine idle smoother and the gas mileage returned to normal.I cut the final rinse filter open and there was a very slight black baby powder consistancy like residue in the very bottom of the pleats. Before the cleaning with the valve cover remover the engine looked brand new. How many miles on the car? how does it run.

I am running the 3oz maintenance dose, we’ll see what the results will be. I have completed 35K miles so far, I am at the 75K mark right now.
