I read the instructions for auto rx for transmissions, but I didn't read anything about synthetic in the trans. I've been using redline d4 with lubegard for the past 12k miles. I want to add auto rx to it. now should I still follow the application instructions to the tee? because I know lubegard is an additive of course. but what about redline in the tranny? is it not a good carrier oil for the auto rx? anyone auto rx their tranny with synthetic? please advise..

Auto-Rx will clean out both oil additive package and the additional oil additive, during cleaning of your transmission. Transmission fluid is a base oil of a very thin viscosity (ISO 68) and oil will only carry so much, you have complex additive package in your base transmission fluid than additional additive. 6 ounces of Auto-Rx is all that is needed in a one time application to clean out the dirt, contaminants, clean and refurbish seal material. When done with Auto-Rx Application use whatever transmission fluid you wish.Follow Instructions on www.auto-rx.net

I recently put ARX in a 4T65E tranny with about 37k on it. Despite the seemingly low miles it still made a noticable improvement! I had one drain and fill with Red Line D4ATF at about 20k, so the majority of fluid was syn. A drain and fill replaces about 70-80% on this trans.

Shifting improved a little bit after that fluid change but has made a huge improvement after running ARX. Shifting is much faster and more crisp! WOT still not hard enough for my tastes but that is design of vehicle. It reduces engine timing to lower power and stress on tranny. Oh well. But speed of shift is like snap of fingers instead of molasses like before.

Yeah, I used it in my 5-spd w/BG SyncroShift synthetic gear oil. At that time (Aug?) Frank told me to use the same ratio (1oz/qt), but run it for 1500 miles rather than the listed 1000 miles. I ran it for 2000 miles 'cuz engine application duration was being pushed farther out at that time, & I wanted to err on the long side rather than the short side.

Even though there's no "rinse" phase for trannies, I'm thinking I'll drain my current fill this coming summer, just to see if more crud comes out.
