My current ride is a 2000 Crown Vic Police intercepter. It is a great running car that has seemed to be maintained fairly well. I just want to bring the maintinence to the next level.

My tranny currently shifts fine, but I would like to keep it that way. I've read all about ARX and how well it works in your engine and and wondering if it is worth my time and money to order an extra bottle for the trans when i get some for my motor.

My other question has to do with ARX and synthetic fluid. The spec for the tranny fluid in my car is Mercron V wich is synthetic based. ARX isn't supposed to be used with a synthetic but that what the tranny uses and I don't want to use an unrecomended fluid just to clean the trans, potentialyu doing more harm than good.

You won't harm the transmission by adding it to the Mercon V. Instead of 1,000 miles, go 3,000 miles and then perform a filter replacement and full flush.

I personally think it's worth it, it has smoothened out some of my shifts more. Amsoil ATF made a huge difference, and the Auto-RX has added more smoothness as well.

Why put in a cleaner when it is working just fine.

If it is not broke why fix something, there is always a chance this Auto-Rx can stir things up and clog the TB/soleniod pack right?

You are not alone, I have read all the great reviews of the product and debated putting it into my tranny every time I do a flush, but then backed off since it drives just fine with regular maintainence.....

No, that's one of the beauties of ARX - it won't "stir things up".
It may be "working fine" now, but do you know the actual condition of the AT?
How many miles are on the Crown Vic?

If transmission is functioning well, a simple fluid flush and filter change is all that is needed.

I also don't think that there is much that will 'stir up' in a transmission.
You need some serious mileage, abuse, negligence, and pathetic ATF, to choke up a transmission.
OEM Mercon-V is a pretty good fluid. Since the vehicle operates fine and has been maintained 'fairly well', just flush and drive.

The car has 76k on it, I think I will just stick to doing regular fluid changes. I changed the fluid right when I got it and am planning on changing it again due to the fact that I don't know exactly what they had in the tranny.

I'm thinking of draining the pan every 15k and then droppiung the pan and replacing the filter and all the fluid every 30k.
